About
the Village:
This
is a small village located in Kenya, Mwingi West County, and a short
distance from Migwani Town. The WA – Kamba tribe village has about
1000 – 2000 Homesteads scantily distributed within a radius of 500
– 1000Kms in range.
Kathumulani Village has one small town comprised of 4 buildings and a 5th is in the process of being constructed. Civilization in this place is still mentally colonially based where the local villages still believe in their roots for administration, infrastructure, morality, and other sociable trends such as witchcraft, superstition among a few vices thus the leaders also tend to follow these undignified ways of living to the point of affecting the development. Religion has the norm of showbiz where real Christians have grown low and mostly pretending to be holy-than- thou attitudes, dressing to impress, so to say. Infrastructure companies such as KPLC and others frequently ignore this town with no electricity up-to-date, solar power is the only thing.
Most of the houses/shops have been demolished due to an order that was generated by the government which was about marking bypass roads and connections but ever since no action has ever happened. These poor agriculturists are left to travel many kilometers just to access the local market which is usually every week in Migwani town.

At
the moment this village is classified as the poorest in Kenya lacking
all social and economic amenities apart from the people who have a
difficult time accessing any information, photocopying, typing, or
government services that have been integrated online. One has to
travel over 10kms to access online services or else use an Android
phone which is rare.
Setting
up an office for these weary people goes without saying, but we lack a
computer and printer. We therefore request you to kindly assist us
with some donations to help with the development and growth of this
town which has been abandoned by the authorities. We are looking for old computers that can be used to access the Internet so as to
start computer classes for the villagers. Android phones are a great
advantage due to their connectivity and could do great in assisting
the disabled. The need for a computer printer is high; trekking many
miles to get a photocopy is not ideal if you are 80 years and
above. We highly request assistance in raising the bar for these
citizens.
